The Love Story

Our engagement story was incredible, as it was exactly what I would have wanted (Even though I never told him what I was thinking)! My husband proposed in the Dalí Museum and specifically in the Immersive Experience that they were doing of Van Gogh, which had just opened that weekend. I've always loved art and so, I was taken aback by the experience. All of a sudden I saw Alberto on the ground. At first, I thought he was picking up something and I knew it was THE moment when I saw a box in his hands. I think time froze, and tears started coming out of my eyes (never, ever did I see myself as one of those girls, but here I was) and I said YES! It was exactly what I would have wanted and more. I guess in Van Gogh's words, "What is done in love, is done well."

The Bridal Look

My bridal look was definitely classic with a modern twist (given the bow). I was inspired by Grace Kelly. My dress though was a Vera Wang dress, which funny enough, was the designer of a bridal dress I once posted on IG that I liked back in my 20s. Wasn't stuck in having to wear her dresses, but funny how life works because I did end up wearing her designs.

The Concept

The concept of my wedding was a magical garden: Dreamy, wild, organic, elegant. I think this encapsulates both the love I have for magic, imagination, creativity, and Alberto's love for nature. I also wanted the color palette to be colorful, but again, something that still evoked elegance and in a way, that felt royal. I also wanted to make sure that nothing felt uptight because that's not just us. A fairytale without the curfew if you will. And then the colors, I incorporated a lot of my favorite hues — especially lilac and then contrasted that with a peach to give it a pop. For the ceremony, I did keep everything more toned down and as the event moved on, incorporated more color, to evoke and set the mood for every timeframe.

The Venue

I chose Tenuta Corbinaia because it felt like us. There was so much nature and beautiful flowers, yet at the same time, it felt elegant and royal. I also loved that there were beautiful spaces both inside and outside which helped our event and all of the components of it feel different.

The Wedding Day

The wedding day was honestly magical–although truth be told, I was under the weather and lost my voice. Great timing! So, on that day, I leaned into ASMR during my vows and gave it my best, but aside from that, everything was beyond my wildest dreams. I could not imagine this day any other way. It was incredible to have our friends from all parts of the world come together to witness our love.

The Entertainment

During the ceremony we had live classical musicians. During the aperitif we had a painter as well who was there to bring on the magic to our guests, painting their portraits so they could take home a little memory of the event. During the dinner we had a tenor who was a complete HIT! And then after this, a DJ.

The Highlight

Our highlight was definitely the vows, as it was just so special to hear each other talk about our love and the promises we would make to one another for a lifetime. There's something life-changing about saying these intimate words in such a public way. For our guests, I'm sure the tenor unexpectedly coming out during our dinner was their highlight.
